Find your Tolino notes.txt
Your highlights and notes are stored in a plain text file named notes.txt
on your Tolino. Follow the steps below to locate and copy it to your computer.
1) Connect your Tolino
- Use a USB cable to connect the Tolino to your computer.
- When prompted on the Tolino, choose to connect for data transfer.
- Open your system’s file explorer (Finder on macOS, Explorer on Windows).

2) Locate the notes.txt file
Tolino Vision / Shine / Page
- Open the Tolino drive from your file explorer.
- Look in the root directory for
notes.txt
.
Tolino Epos / Clara
- Open the Tolino drive from your file explorer.
- Look in the root directory for
notes.txt
.

3) Copy and upload
- Copy
notes.txt
to your computer. - Return to the homepage and upload it using the drag & drop area.
Troubleshooting
Tolino does not appear in Finder/Explorer
Try another USB port/cable, or confirm the Tolino shows a data transfer prompt.
No notes.txt in root directory
Ensure you created highlights/notes on the device. Some firmware versions store notes only after a sync or shutdown/restart.
